Front subframe tower spacers

Post by Gordycol1 »

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me please do all front subframes have spacers fitted between the tower tops and the bulkhead? I have just removed my MK1 Moke front subframe which was not only heavily corroded but a much later type, I have sourced an excellent twin stud one to replace it with which is correct for the year (1965) and I want to get it back to how it should be.
I have heard that only some front subframes had these 3-4mm spacers fitted but not sure, the replacement subframe seems to fit either way?
Many thanks

Every one that I’ve come across has had the spacers fitted so I’d say yes.

Yes it should have the spacers.

I am building a '65 also, loads of fun. Good luck and try to enjoy the process.

Ahh thank you Guys, I have them anyway so no probs, it just seemed to fit either way (although with the bolts fairly loose to be fair)
Yes I will/am enjoying the process, this will get my 3rd and oldest owned Moke to date, just loving the ‘no-frills’ simplicity of this one 👍😃
