Rear bumper mounts 2

Post by Tom »

Hi all,

Has anyone seen this rear bumper set up before? It’s an English MK1 originally registered in Malawi. So possibly common to African Mokes?

I’m doing a refurb and considering correcting to factory. Although, it works fairly well for tow ball attachment (for light loads).

Thanks.

I think it’s more likely to be a home made adaptation

I am pretty sure that mokes assembled in Rhodesia or imported direct from the UK had the standard front and rear bumper. A lot of the Malawi mokes were assembled in Rhodesia. South African mokes may be different, but no good reason why they would have been.

Thanks both, useful. I think you’re right regarding Malawi Mokes being assembled in Rhodesia, JAG.
