Material for a Mini Moke hood.

Post by Doug G »

The hood on my Mini Moke is nearing its last legs (it is on crutches and requires stitches).

What is the recommended material for a Mini Moke hood?
Having a moking good time!

Trade Names for this stuff does vary from place to place, however, in general, there's two basic types, stretch and non-stretch.

For the Vinyl Hood, you'd want a non-stretch type and I'd suggest going for a Marine Grade. If you let your supplier know what you want it for, they should be able to fix you up with the right stuff. If checking it out at the counter, it should have a heavier feel about it and not fold tight easily as well as not stretching (check in 2 directions). It should also be expensive ;) Also ask for YKK zippers.
Old Mokers never die, they just smell that way.
