Thanks for explanation Nigel... so if I understand correctly then, the motor should work anyway without the lever in place i.e. the lever doesn't electrically disengage anything, it is just not possible to park the wiper manually.... if that's the case, guess the motor itself could be FUBAR off to start investigating

That's correct .... Try taking it apart, the motor itself is dead simple inside (but very greasy in the front end)

Oh and don't forget the motor makes a great hand-warmer on long trips in the rain...

On those days, I will make sure I take Aussie Moke 'Elmer' with its 'working ' heater as long as you keep the side cover panels on.... visibility? steamed up? what?

I assume the motor only provides the aditional 'added value' of heatinh when it operates. Best not tell the boss..... I'll have to install a second wiper motor for her

You can't have two wipers working at the same time. It's too long an explanation for this time of night. Suffice to say, just go look at the mounting holes and where the wiper parks

I have heard that to stop mid rainstorm clashes of the wiper arms, you would need a team of synchronised swimmers to keep track of it all

Hi Jan. When they fitted one wiper to the original 80" land Rover, for the driver, they included a substantial grab rail for the passenger. Something to do with not seeing where you are going!!!!!!

I'm going to run some tests on it (been a bit busy lately and haven't even got the Fluke out yet) if electrically OK, I will strip it apart and see if I can get it working. Ken B has promised to look for a lever and nut for me - Cheers Ken, you're a star Anyone got a sort of working cosmetic wreck they want to sell, donate etc

I've just invested in a brand new (ruinously expensive) wiper motor for the drivers side. The '63 oriional will now be moved to the passenger side to placate the MOT man, it'll only work manually, so no worries of wiper collisions. all of which leaves me with a '65 model in a pretend working condition going spare (Offers)

Almost all there.......The manual wipe lever has a hibrid nut holding it on and it appears to have no interest in electricity so far as I can see It's all nice and clean though
