Is one in proper and full control of a vehicle if one is using ones hand to oscillate a wiper blade back and forth?

Of course, because one will be using ones foot to activate the high beam, leaving that hand free for wiper blade oscillation

Ken did send me the lever and nut.... Thanks again Ken. I fitted them and then actuated the wiper. It worked, I was elated. Then driving home later.... no lights, fuse blown. I replace the fuse, and on switching the wiper, the fuse blows again. Strip wiper motor time I guess

Probably using the wrong size fuse.

Finally took the bull (well the FW2 actually) by the horn at the weekend... I have been getting away with dry outings only and there were surprisingly many 8) Anyway, FW2 removed, and opened. Regulated power supply, Fluke, solder station and jar of vaseline at the ready........ good grief, it was like a 60's perished resin and crud fest inside  soon found the problem, amateur soldering bird droppings inside were touching the inner casing... redid all soldering, cleaned up and lubed (yes that's what the Vaseline was for ) re-installed. Running super sweet - not much of a sweep I guess, but characterful and in period :D

You kiddin :?: :!: I'll be taking one of those plant misting bottles with me so that at opportune or show off moments - like when parked up at a CC show - I can squirt the screen and use the wiper..... just cos I can  Next I'll be getting a second FW2, a couple of proximity sensors, a small logic controller and setting up twin synchronised wipers..... OK, I'll shut up now and pour another drink

All this talk about wipers is very entertaining but ultimately pointless. Have you ever driven in the rain? The outside of the 'screen might be clear but the inside will be covered in spray

Hallelujah...... I'm not the only one :!: Driving back from the National - where were you Nigel... don't start that North/South thang... we made it to Arkholme and the weather was Ess Aitch One Tee  we had more spray on the inside of the screen than out. Put the side panels on and that was it... more fogging than a dogging session in Chiswick Lovers Lane

That's why I carry a windscreen squeegee (for the inside rather than out)
