Indicator 'buzzer'
I think I've just cured the old 'you've left you indicators on' problem with an inexpensive little device from e-bay.

Easy peasy to fit, no skinned knuckles, under breath cursing or signs of blood!
Now the problems going to be getting rid of that ringing in my ears!

Re: Indicator 'buzzer'
I have one of those buzzers (not the rest of it) on the Oil Lamp (I don't drive around looking at them) and they are really LOUD.
I'd like something similar for the Indicators, but a bit quieter.

Re: Indicator 'buzzer'
Hi Chris, I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you wire this up? I have a genuine Rover Mini Cabriolet http://www.roverminicabriolet.net/and I've just bought one of these kits as I can never hear the indicators and the indicator light is difficult to see.Wally2 wrote:I think I've just cured the old 'you've left you indicators on' problem with an inexpensive little device from e-bay.

I'm not the best at car electrics but this should be fairly straight forward if someone can point me in the right direction...
And how loud are they??
Regards and thanks in advance,

Re: Indicator 'buzzer'
hi Stephen,
Wiring is pretty easy, it comes with two red wires and a black one. The black goes to earth and each of the reds goes to each side indicators so that it sounds whichever indicators are on. It came with those connectors that you wrap around an existing wire, put the new wire into the other side and squeeze with some pliers. However, I wired mine into the wires coming from the indicator stalk where they link onto the main loom where the steering column meets the bracket to the bulkhead as they connected to the loom via double torpedo connectors, so I just bought two connectors and pushed them into the double connectors on the loom. A wiring diagram is useful to get the required two wires!
The earth is the one onto a spare stud as you can see in the photo.
I mounted the sounder using the double sided tape supplied, behind my little gauge panel. It was a little loud at first so I stuck a bit of tape over it and its just fine now.
Cheers
Chris

Doug, That's not the engine compartment, it's the other side of the bulkhead just above the pedal box/ steering column support.

Thanks for the info Chris! I'll take the cowling off from around the steering column and see if I can work out which wires are which!Wally2 wrote:hi Stephen,

It's not as clean as it was when I bought it nearly 3 years ago! Its done a few miles since then and gone through a few changes/mods.

Re: Indicator 'buzzer'
Another option I only just came across now.
Although intended for LED type lamps, I see it is rated from 0.02 to 15 Amps, so it'll be fine with normal bulbs.

I'll be getting me one of these!

Re: Indicator 'buzzer'
Did the name of the company have any bearing on your decision then ?
