Correct lights & wiper for a late 1966 English

Post by mokeinmalta »

Hi

Can anyone clarify which the correct lights would be for a Moke built in the UK on 13/12/1966 & sold on 05/01/1967?

Front indicators: Some photos show a solid white unit, other a solid orange and yet others a split unit orange/white.

Rear : is this correct? Image

I've got an assortment but all of them seem to be for a later model. Am I correct in thinking there's no reverse light?

Photos would help!

Also would it have had one wiper or 2?

Thanks for any help, nice weekend all & happy Moking!
Steve

The rear lights in your pic look like the correct type/position. They are the same as mini front indicators ( but different colour glass in the tail/stop lights)
The front ones would depend on the market where the Moke was sold, in the UK they were orange/ white, the same as fitted on the Morris minor and MG 1100/1300
And yes, you're right, there's no reversing light. I'm not sure about the wiper motor.

Hi And Welcome,
The wiper (single) should be a Lucas FW2 as fitted to Land Rover series 1/2

I strongly suspect that I have the original wiper blades.

Having been out in a couple (don't happen too often) showers I have found that I can see through the rain pelted windscreen without the wipers on better than I can see through it with the wipers on.

I shall have to get around to chaining them. :D
Having a moking good time!

I think you'll find that the rubber type ones work better Doug, and they won't scratch the windscreen as much as the chain ones

Mokeinmalta, as a P.S. To wally so post. If you do have one of those wiper motors you'll only have one wiper (that'll be on the drivers side of course)
