OK so what do I buy for i) the oil and ii) the water . . . pressure, temperature.

Which do you consider most useful /informative?

The two you mentioned. I went with mechanical for both but the electric ones are much easier to install. I went with white face as easier for me to read with aging eyes.

Do you recommend the joint dual oil pressure and water temperature gauges e.g.

In the middle of the white gauges is a power port.

I have not had good luck with the dual gauges, the water temp side did not work right on both. Besides you could probably get a set of off name ones for less than the cost of a dual gauge.

As name brands go, I don't think you can do any better than these.
