Two reasons non-functional clutch... non functional brakes.
I would have made it up on the trailer... Then off the other end :D
Any hood and side curtain supplier suggestions?

Ah, the old hood, seat cushions, & side curtains dilema.... still trying to decide myself. I've gone years without a hood. Have no interest in side curtains..... You need to have all those ugly fastener thingys down the sides of the pontoons... & my seat cushions have 45 years worth of wear 'n tear.... not to mention 45 years of farts embedded in 'em.
I just had the hoops refinished by my body guy.
So, I'm conflicted as to keeping it original or having a hood & seat cushions made up with the flags from each country my Moke has lived in.... England to Barbados to Canada to the USA.
Decisions, decisions.....
Edit: If I was going with the original set up, I've heard good feedback on the m-parts hood.
And, I still don't understand why you didn't just drive it up the ramps..... brakes are for sissies. And, I'm sure your insurance would be happy to buy a new tailgate for that pick up truck.

I wasn't worried about damaging the truck! Just think what damage it would have done to the moke D:

I will inquire with m-parts if this panel order turns out good. However originality isn't too important, a custom half cab would also work for me as I plan to use this thing for long distant solo trips.

I inquired with m-parts about the top, they said side screens were not stock so they don't do them for english mokes, they do the basic top though. This probably isn't the best for my plans on traveling so I will probably need to get a custom one made or some other plan.

As for the panels, I will be ordering a list tonight;

1 x Hull side Assembly LH HYE1153 - £59.41
1 x Hull side Assembly RH HYE1128 - £59.41
1 x Hull closure / Flitch panel LH ALA7251 - £12.78
1 x Hull Closure / Flitch Panel RH ALA7250 - £12.78
1 x Toe board Assembly HYK2458A - £95.72
1 x Rear Heel board Assembly ALA7023A - £157.20
1 x Pannier outer sill LH HYE0875 - £23.51
1 x Pannier outer sill RH ALA7312 - £23.51
1 x Pannier side RH ALA7320 - £138.00
1 x Pannier side LH ALA7321 - £138.00
2 x Battery supports ALA7305 - £14.75 each
1 x Reinforcing plate Rear LH - HYK1756 - £4.75
1 x Reinforcing plate Rear RH - HYE1755 - £4.75

Which with £160 shipping should come out right around $1500. That will leave me with needing to acquire pannier floors, front wing sloping sections and reinforcements, rh rear wing and rear wing reinforcements, and possibly a front rh wing to splice in to repair accident damage. Even though the moke is still on the trailer I guess it is a good time for a project thread.

If I remember, doesn't the club have some reproduction floor panels??? Thought I read it on here somewhere but didn't pay all that much attention because I didn't have a need.....
Any feedback on those? And the possibilty of combining the shipment if they're available???
CLM is already spending quite a bit.... Just looking for ways to save some dosh and help him make a proper repair.

have you thought about asking Leo Jack at Cooper cars? he sells on Ebay UK and Ebay AU. This link is a picture of his panels.

Yup, Leo's floor pans are what I will be acquiring, although hopefully I will be able to get M-Machine to send them out as they have a doorframe they need to send for my wagon. They are asking Leo if they can supply those parts, though I expect an email back in the next month or two if I dont call them... they are very very busy lol.

Well I got it home today, and my first lesson on how stubborn the Moke is. I started loostening the straps, and I had the hand brake full on and it was in gear. As soon as it sensed a bit of freedom it raced forward towards the truck untill it's front tires fell off the deck. Doh... Stubborn Moke... It fought me and refused to go back on the deck so I disconnected the truck and decided, if it doesnt want to come off the back, it will just have to come off the front.

Using a high lift jack I jacked up the front and placed a pair of ramps under the front tires and once the high lift jack was out of the way I pushed it forward untill the sump hung up on the trailer hitch safety lock. I used the highlift again at this point to gently lift the front untill it was high enough to slide over the lock and onto the ground.

Once it was past the lock the Moke happily rolled off into the grass.

I have pushed it around back at this point, I need to make some room in the shop to get the moke in, Probably going to have to take the 60 shell to my mothers house to re-inture it in her vault of storage.

Although, I do think I am going to try to make it run tomorrow...

I managed to get the engine running, although something is sounding like an old tinny squirrel fan.

That'll be the A series 848cc engine under the bonnet - mine sounds like a nimble hamster going round in its treadmill

Hmm, my saloon with the 850 didn't sounds like marbles rattling in a tin can. I am sure something is not quite right somewhere...

Perhaps, I do hope it's not coming from inside the engine, I will probably pull the fan belt and give it a try tomorrow or the next.
