The moke was built mid nineties from tin fire exit sign...the chassis was Tamiya boomerang with the back axles removed...this was my second moke model after the prisoner moke...based on lancia rally car chassis...ken

time for another yellow one?

It took some time but finally I started my work:





I have changed my plans and do not use the Kyosho chassis because my wife wants to drive the Mini model while I am driving the Moke. So I decided to build up an "old school" chassis like I had in the mid 80s.
The basics of the chassis are done, but next I have to install the RC components.
The bumpers, windscreen and rollbar are also missing at the moment.

I have a full set of the Coke Moke plans will look at scale then i can see if i can adapt, must see these models in the flesh so that i could possibly take some measurment. After seeing kens moke i think i might be onto some thing.

Well, finally got around to doing my RC Moke. Ran into a few problems using the Tamiya MO3 chassis. So I will try another chassis for my other bodyshell. For info guys I am on 40Mhz AM, with various different Crystals

Hi,

the RC Moke Grand Prix is coming closer and I was working on my model the last few days. I believed I have finished it so far after changing the wheels, fitting the windscreen and changing the motor to a faster one.
Everything seemed ok except the bent front bumper.



But then the problems began and now my speed control gave up due to high motor current!
Hopefully I can fix the problem with one of my speed controls I have here.

Speed controller / windings mismatch? - many Tamiya hop-up motors are low windings - 19 - 23 or so, many speed controllers are set up for 27 or more

Daniel, I like your windscreen frame - what did you use - doesn't look like the plasticard one that came with the shell? Mine was broken, so have been looking for alternatives

Yes, maybe the motor hasn't enough turns. But the speed controller was a self made model and not designed for those high currents. Sometimes you don't believe it and you have to see the result...

I was looking a long time for a proper way to do this. It is a piece of 5mm perspex (145x50mm) surrounded by a 1mm thick aluminium. It is fixed by a few small screws (size M2x4).
It is quite a lot of weight and I hope the shell will not crack.
