Wow Martin, he is really cracking on with it. Looks great.
So many new panels, but I guess the time and effort to repair the old ones would take much longer, and there are very good replacement panels available as well.

Cheers

Half pint, Martin and Eddie the lads who are working on it really know what they are doing. The original panels were a lot worst than they looked. The body work will soon be finished.

Quick question. Does that wing extension reach the front of the front panel or is it an optical illusion that it looks short?

Or is it the front panel that’s not fixed yet?

Nigel, this puzzled me as well when I first saw the picture. Front panel hasn’t been fitted yet.

From the holes in your back panel I’d say you’ve got the oval hella type lights

You can still get these type lights, but beware, they don’t have reflectors in the lenses so you’ll need a separate one (mine are from the halfrauds bike shop)
I’d say keep the reversing light......after all, why not?

Cheers Nigel I want to try and have a fog light as well as a reversing light.

I had the same trouble with my pictures. I do them on my phone now and they always work out the right way up.

Thanks so much for posting so many great progress shots, Its gold, really.
If you like the reversing light plate, keep it. Seems there were a few different ones added through the years.
The Australian Export Moke ( Designed for the US market) also had something similar, just wider.
This is a pic I took just today of a 1980 ex Army Moke that had a bracket on the rear guard, on both sides actually. It was for an ID plate I think.

As a note to HPs pic. Those are the later type rear lights, you need a different “kick out” piece for those though.

Very true Nigel, later square tail lights had a recess pressed in to accommodate them, but my post was more to do with the mounting brackets attached to the rear guards than the tail lights.

I have a set of Hella lights on their way from Minispares Australia. What I want to do is widen the bracket to accommodate a reversing light and a fog light. I was planning to use MK 1 glass lights.
