Austin/Morris Day. Brooklands 10th March

Post by Lindandy »

Janz has kindly pointed out to me the Austin/Morris Day at The Brooklands Museum of Transport on the 10th March. Anyone not able to make the Mini Day might want to take in this event. Again, lots to do & see. Just check out the Brooklands web site for details. Thanks Janz. Andy.

Thanks for the credit Andy... was a really nice event last year with parade etc. We had a dedicated space for us - next to the half scale Concorde. Pictures in the Gallery - events 2012.....

Hi Andy... as the new 'South Central Coordinator' - it seems almost bizarre that there is someone even newer than me  - I will check it out and make any arrangements as required. last year's event was coordinated by Phil Bowring who has some 'preferential' links with Brooklands. I will post further details in this subject shortly. I do recall you coming to the event last year, but not with Moke - am I right?

Cheers, Jan

Those checking the Brooklands website may have spotted that Test Hill runs appear limited to pre 1940's cars. I checked with them and have it confirmed now that all Austin and Morris cars attending the event will be eligible for a run up test hill - regulations and conditions apply.

This is the reply from Donna Hopton - Events Manager:

Hi Jan, thank you for your email. yes please do add it to your Events info. any Austin Morris car (any age) can ascend the Hill – weather permitting on the day. All drivers and passengers must attend the
H & S Briefing prior to the ascents.
Please use Entrance 2 on the attached location map for the Campbell Gate
Gates open at 10am. £1 off normal entry prices for occupants arriving in an Austin or Morris car on the day. No dogs permitted on to the Museum site.

Hope this info may help
Kind regards
Donna

Thought hadn't really occurred to me to be honest. Last year we had English, Aussie and Portuguese Mokes... we all got into the display area, no problem. There were Austin, Morris and Rover Minis too so I guess it's much the same story. Moke is Moke :D

I have arranged with Donna Hopton, parking for the Moke Club. It will be in the staff car park area. Use entrance 2, Campbell gate. Gates open 10 am...see you there! Andy.

BBC Weather reckons 13 Celcius and light rain on Sunday....
The weather Channel reckons 9 celcius and 20% cange of light showers.... :|

Which will it be? :?: let's hope the remaining 80% is from 08:00 to 18:00 :D
