Hi All,
I'm after a full Horn Push for my Moke. She came with an aftermarket wheel, having put the original Mk1 wheel back on I need everything to make the horn work again! This is all I currently have...
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
Try this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Lucas ... SwzaJX3s3E
There's also a complete steering wheel but it is expensive!

Mini Spares do one but it doesnt have the emblem centre part.

Re: Horn Push Assembly
Thanks!
Yes I'd had a look on ebay, however I need the part that earths to the steering column, not just the actualy button on top!

Re: Horn Push Assembly
If I remember correctly from when I was doing mine the wire up the centre of your column should go through a plastic sleeve and have a spring arrangement at the end of it. This keeps it in contact with the wheel centre. I'm sure I made one myself that did the job just fine and used a spring that I found.
All in all it was a case of rooting round in the garage until something suitable turned up

Re: Horn Push Assembly
Hi Peter,
I do not have the original wheel on, but the earth return is simply provided by the centre boss having a sprung wire that contacts the steering wheel when you push it into place. As Nigel says, the wire up the centre connects with the push button which makes the circuit to earth when you push it.
Cheers

Re: Horn Push Assembly
As an afterthought, I'm thinking I used a steering wheel from an 1100/1300. The centre boss is smaller but the centres are easier and cheaper to find
