Ferry details

Post by flyboy »

At last DFDS have published their ferry times for the Baltic crossing from Kiel to Klaipeda.
There are a few of us from the UK planning to travel together on the big drive up to the ferry port in Germany, and pick up with our friends from Belgian Minis on Tour and Belgian Mini Fun Club on the way (that's you Wesley !!)
So far our plan looks like this......
Depart UK on Sunday 17th May, get a few miles under our belts before stopping overnight, somewhere in Belgium possibly, then big drive up to Bremen area on the Monday, then shorter drive up to Kiel for the overnight ferry on the Tuesday. This ferry gets us into Lithuania on the Wednesday evening, so we will stop in the Klaipeda area on Wednesday night before the final 250 mile drive to the IMM.
Leave the IMM early (ish) Monday 25th to do the return ferry back to Kiel, arriving tea time Tuesday. At the moment we have not decided whether to go for broke and do the home return leg from Kiel in one day or break the journey up into two days.
I will be booking the ferry as soon as possible so if you want to join us please let me know.

And another thing while I remember..... What's the chance of DFDS giving us some of the fuel surcharge back as the price of fuel is low low low now?

I don't know for certain Weske, but being as the ferry seems to be full of people going to the imm I should think there will be a MASSIVE mini cruise to the imm site :D

yes, that's for sure 8)

Our first idea is straight to the IMM. We arrive on 16u30 and it is about 4u30 drive.
In Lithuania you there is a speed limit of 110km/u on the highway.
