National 2015 in the Derbyshire Peak district

Post by Wally2 »

Yes that's 'Peak' not Park!
This is the event postponed from 2014, a little early as its almost a year away, but we thought we'd better get the date in the diaries, next year shouldn't be as busy as 2014 but events are now being planned!
Steve Hall (flyboy) and I will be touring the Peaks soon to locate a good camp site as a base and then look at routes out and interesting places to visit over the weekend.
For anyone proposing to come a long distance, we will also look at the camp site for the Thursday night.
For those not into camping we will get info on local B & B's and hotels.
Keep your eye on the forum and the forthcoming 'Moking' magazines for more info as time goes on.

Hi All,
Steve and I did a tour around the Peak last Sunday and came across a great looking camp site near Bakewell. It has all the required facilities - including a pub! and a shop, laundry, toilets and showers.
Details can be viewed at
http://www.greenhillsholidaypark.co.uk/index.html.
I will be looking out for details of B & B's and hotels in the area and will add them here, so keep looking.
To save confusion booking for the camp site will be via me or Steve and I will endeavour to put out a 'booking form' of some description some time over the next few months.
We hope to have some idea of attendee numbers before the end of the year so that we can get the particular area we are after booked in early January.
Cheers

That's great David, we will be looking for local B & B's and hotels soon for those who don't want to camp.
Steve and I have already done some routes and just need to sort venues for stops and lunches etc.

We will need to have some 'loose' idea of numbers (i.e. campers and vans etc.) before the end of the year in order to secure our place on the camp site, so anyone else, like David, who are considering attending, please let me or Steve know (or put it on here)
Cheers

Yes we will be there. We will be towing the moke with a "day/camper van so will need campsite type facilities not B&B. Good luck on the organisation and we will keep an eye out for more details and when/if you want monetary commitment.

Fully understand the need for some good B & B's or hotels and we will be going up to Bakewell sometime soon to check some out. We have a list and will report back as soon as.
Thanks to everyone who has said they will be coming, we will be booking the camp site early in Jan.
Cheers

Just expressing an interest but it's a long way in a Moke if it's raining..... Mind you, don't mind camping!

Hi all,
I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and that thoughts can now turn to 2015 and Moking events!!
Thanks to all those that have expressed interest in coming along to the National, we are hoping to pre-book a good location on the camp site some time soon so if there are any more out there with an inkling to join us, then please let us know. We have approx. 10 Mokes so far.
All the best for the New Year celebrations!

Cheers
