Re: National 2015 in the Derbyshire Peak district
Hi All,
Steve and I have recently visited the proposed campsite to finalise our booking, unfortunately the area we had in mind is now being converted to take static caravans. We were shown an adjoining area for the tents, but the campervans would be located close by in a different area.
We came away somewhat disappointed, but then received an e-mail advising us that we could not hire the field as agreed and also we could not have the club gazebo up, as agreed.
So all things considered we are having to start again and will be touring round the area again looking for an alternative site. As this could be away from Bakewell please hold off any bookings of B & B’s. We will advise you of local B & B’s when we’ve identified the ‘new’ camp site.
Cheers
Chris and Steve

Hey guys, what about Beech Croft Farm. Superb location, close to Millers Dale and Tideswell (for that Anchor Banger and culinary centre of t'peaks - the Tideswell school of foods! featured on TV) and... lot's of stuff for kids like farm animals, micro pigs etc.
Everyone focuses on Bakewell - all you get there is tarts! there's lot's further oop nawth too

Hi Jan,
This one is on the list! Weather (i.e. more of the white stuff) is delaying the next tour of camp sites. Prices at the Beech Croft Farm look more reasonable as well. It is a little further north but looks a good location, have you been there before? Must keep in mind B & B's but I'm sure there will be some around there.
Cheers
Chris

Hi all,
Steve and I braved the cold white Peak District today in search of a suitable camp site.
First stop was the Beach Croft but unfortunately they wont have groups on the site, scratch one!
We had better luck at two others and so will investigate these further and let you know asap as they are taking bookings as we speak! These is a carnival the weekend before and the Bakewell Show the weekend after so we need to get a move on.

Re: National 2015 in the Derbyshire Peak district
Hi everyone,
Steve and I have been out into the Peak District and have confirmed the campsite for the National!
The camp site is at :-
Knotlow Farm, Flagg, Buxton Derbyshire SK17 9QP
E-mail : enquiries@knotlowfarm.co.uk
Webste: http://www.knotlowfarm.co.uk
Enquiries to Margaret on 01298 85313 or 0797 400 8615
We feel it better for you to book in yourselves but do mention you are part of the Moke Club group and they will put us all on the same area.
Electric hook ups are available and they also have Yurts and Tipi’s on site – see the web page for details. B & B is also provided but the some of the rooms they have may already be booked.
Also available on site in the evenings are made on site Pizza’s and in the mornings bacon and sausage baps!
Steve and I will be on site from Thursday afternoon to set up the club tent and gazebo so if you want to come early there will be someone there. We will be staying Sunday night as well so we can take down the Club tent on the Monday morning.
PLEASE ensure you tell them that you are part of the Moke Club Group when booking!
Initial thoughts on agenda for the weekend are:-
For those arriving Thursday – perhaps a local run out on Friday morning.
Friday afternoon/evening – meet and greet and either into Bakewell for something to eat or perhaps Pizza’s at the camp site.
Saturday – trip out in the morning to Crich Tramway Museum where we can display the Mokes on site in front of the old Council house. For those that want it we can take a look around the workshops, a trip out on a tram will be available and then lunch on site.
A run back to the camp site through the Peak District is planned with a barby early evening.
Sunday – Local trip to Speedwell Caven, a boat trip into the caves is available for those who want to join us. Afternoon, back to the camp site to pack up for those leaving.
There is a pub about a miles walk away.
Local B & B’s / hotels are available in Ashford and Bakewell, try on Booking.com or lateroom.com i.e.:-
