Moke Club National Friday 16th July - Sunday 18th July

Post by grantourer »

The National will be based around Bridgnorth in the heart of beautiful Shropshire. Bridgnorth is just south of Ironbridge, the Cradle of the Industrial Revolution. Organising member Rosie is planning a very eventful weekend, with more details to follow.

The National will be based at the Stanmore Hall touring Park, Bridgnorth WV15 6DT which is operated by Morris Leisure. To book your pitch, please go to the Morris Leisure website www.morris-leisure.co.uk. And choose Stanmore Hall to book online and use “Rosie Wood Moke Group” as the booking reference. Should you wish to book by phone, please call 01746 761761. You can choose plots for Tents, Caravans or Motorhomes.

When you have booked, please email Rosie, rosie@rosiewood.com and include Moke Club National in the Subject line

Hoping this event is possible this year as be great to see everyone again but won't be staying at Stanmore as they are quoting £147.60 for 4 night tent stay = £37 per night

I'm not upset about changing venue as it was an expensive site and surely the National should be available to all our members at a reasonable price . Some members don't own a motorhome and drive their Moke to the event and expect to to camp at a reasonable cost.
I have suggested a site to the organisers and know they are actively looking for a suitable venue.
Really looking forward to getting out Moking again and seeing you all again

I hope an alternative site is found soon as there are a lot of people booking camp sites at the moment on the assumption that trips abroad may not be on until later this year.

I would advise phoning to book as I filled in their webpage booking form without any response so emailed without success - phoned to get voice message but eventually spoke on the phone and they were very helpful to make our booking

The take up for the event has been good, but not outstanding as, for understandable reasons, Mokers are being cautious of making commitments whilst the 'road map to cease the lockdown is taking its course. The good news is that there are still plenty of pitches available, but clearly these will get snapped up as July approaches. Menus will be issued soon to those signed-up so far and in the meantime further details of activites are now available. If you haven't yet booked and want more information, please do not hesitate in contacting Rosie, or posting questions here.

There are now approximately 55 persons in 32 Mokes due to attend the Club National.

However, there is some concern that not all of those who have booked at the site, or at other accommodation, or intend to day-visit the event have been listed by Rosie. In order to correct this, and haven't already done so, please just confirm now to: rosie@rosiewood.com

The next communication will include menus for the Friday night fish & chip supper and the Saturday night dinner. But before then, please check that Rosie has accurate details.

2. Please note that if you are still not booked, the campsite has only non-electric grass pitches available now. Please call the site as soon as possible to book: 01588 650605.

5. The pub is nearly at maximum capacity for the Saturday evening meal, please can you contact me urgently if you want to attend and have not yet indicated this, and chosen from the menu.
6. Campers, if you wish to take breakfast at the pub, please Pre-Book now. Phone Lin at Inn on the Green on 01588 650105 so she can plan ahead.
7. Please follow all Covid Notices on campsite, dog walking areas and the pub inside and outside spaces.
8. Pub is dog friendly. Dogs allowed in public bar at front of pub and back garden and under the awning, but not in restaurant and lounge.
9. There is a basic camp shop on site and also a grocery shop across the main road.
10. If the weather is wet, the site requests that all drivers and particularly motor home owners are very careful when driving on/off grass pitches.

Remember, just email me for any details you may require now or call/text my mobile 07399 837709 if you need help; during your stay or on our trips out, or just come and find me.
