Will a moke float.
Monday morning, eating a double sausage egg muffin, sitting in my nice warm van, outside copious amounts of precipitation and wind outside, I paint a lovely picture, decide I'm going to have to make a GRP top for the moke. Having no garage space it spends its days outside and no matter how good the rag top is, it always feels damp. Then I got to thinking, if it keeps raining like this may need to use the top for a sail, and apart from being a bit front heavy I think it'll float. The GRP top at the NEC looked OK.

The yellow one looks more like the Schmitt from "Racing Green"!

Re: Will a moke float.
Someone has to ask the next silly question so it might as well be me.
How about a hover moke?
The trouble is I can start to see it:- Inflated sponsons along each side, fan motor where the back seats usually are.
I think I will go and lie down until it wears off.

Yeah, I did some experiments on just that a while back
but it was all just over my head
Just stepping back to the original topic, yes, it has been done

Old Mokers never die, they just smell that way.

That's OK, it might work fine the first time but if you went to try it a week later all you'd find in your garage would be a pile of rust
Come on summer

A modified little wheeler Moke was floated across the croc-infested Jardine River in 1986. You can see it on the video teaser here, at the three minute mark.
