Greetings again,
Before I return and restore this non - original Moke, I'd like to buy front+rear+master+clutch cylinder seals. As the car has been laid up for 1.5 years and parts are difficult to find in Barbados, I think it might be a wise move!
Would anyone have all the correct brake / master / clutch cylinder sizes for this '97 vehicle? And possibly, where I could buy these seals etc?
Also, any other advice would be most appreciated as to what other service parts I ought to take.
I haven't heard the 998 cc engine but the elderly owner said it worked fine before he parked it up. So really, apart from a service + possibly brake overhaul, I think the car will prove to be reliable. The owner did say the clutch needs to be bled but it may well be that the clutch cylinder is corroded. He put on a new set of front shocks.
Sadly, I have no pics but when I return, I shall post some.

The problem is, as its basically a kit type car it's all but impossible to know what parts it's got fitted, though I would think that generic mini components for a '97 vintage would do the job

Yes you're probably right.
I'll just buy the Mini parts and hope for the best. Many thanks.

Hi,
As wheel cylinders are pretty cheap (approx. £7 each) and as you are not sure of the size, it's probably better to buy complete units rather than just the rubbers. A complete clutch slave cylinder is approx. £20.
Try at Somerfords, their sections give an idea what's on which year of car, have a look at:-

If you are getting a clutch master then a plastic type is probably the best bet......I shouldn't think originality would be top of your list in this case

Check the brakes.
Are they drum type on all four wheels?
My mike had that but given that I like to stop rather than come slowly to a halt I replaced the front wheel brakes with disks.
It was somewhat expensive (for my pocket), but fitted easily and it stops a lot quicker!!
I feel a lot safer with the disk brakes.
