I see Mark Paget has updated his original article on Export Mokes on the AR Online website.
Very interesting. You can view the article by clicking here. Roger

'Interesting' article. I'll have a few more reads of it.
I know Mark, he's an equally 'Interesting' fella.
I'll let him know that the P/N for the Aust Made (CAM Gears / TRW) LHD Steering Rack is AYA6009A
The Export Model wasn't the Moke's finest hour

Old Mokers never die, they just smell that way.

Just spotted a photo on the MOAV Facebook from the 1970s. Export Mokes must have been popular back then - there are four in the photo. (Original photo by Veronica Sim)

They did seem popular among the MOA, the attraction of course being the 1275 engine, though on drum brakes!
There were a few guys who tried them in the SA Moke Club but found them not only heavier but a weaker construction as they didn't take twisting too well.

Hmm, 'interesting', yes that's an adjective. I think its great that anyone goes to the effort of recording, collating and documenting this stuff, but far out, I find it so difficult to read anything that he writes without getting angry. Maybe if it was just objective information rather than being full of the author's belief in his own self worth I'd appreciate it more.spider wrote:'...I know Mark, he's an equally 'Interesting' fella...
