Found a survivor!!!
Was at the SCCA Runoffs at Mid-Ohio today. The original owner was driving it around today at the track. Story goes that he was a BMC Dealer Manager back in 1967 when there were over 800 BMC dealers in the US. This was one of the Mokes that the dealer was forced to sell by BMC but for obvious reasons was not a popular Mini variant being sorta N East part of the continent. So he bought it. Same colors as "Barb," but definitely original everything, as far as I can tell. Found a survivor in the area apparently in the Warren part of Ohio. Did not get much of a chance to exchange information.

Matt,
Wow! That's cool! I had a friend tell me he saw a Moke there, but not details. Did you get any photos? Any owner info at all? Could be possibly be interested in selling?

That's really cool!
My Moke is also a USA Import survivor, sold in NY state.
Mine was manufactured in 1965, but is registered as 1967. I can only assume it sat on the dealership unsold for 2 years until a farmer bought it.

Re: Found a survivor!!!
I also have a USA importer survivor, mine was built November 22nd 1965 and exported to Philadelphia in Jan '66. It spent most of its time in the US in San Diego, I have a bill of sale from 1987 where it was bought for $50!
It came back to the UK in 2006.
See here for more info.

Nice! I think Mk I Mokes are more fun. I have to lose some weight to drive mine better though! Adjustable seats may help fit my larded arse in there.
