M Parts Exhaust

Post by johng »

My exhaust system eventually rusted and was advised by MOT. So I bought a M parts system as it was supposedly made as an exact copy of the original.
I fitted it at Hollowell ( with great hilarity and a lot of help from Denzil ) . Strikingly the original had 2 boxes and Mparts only 1 . Major problem was mating the exhaust manifold flange with the flange on mparts exhaust cos the angle on the mparts exhaust flange was so great it twisted the pipe into the gearbox remote. Sorry I am not an engineer but the Exhaust Specialist Co. Agreed it would never fit and made a down pipe for me. I recommend you don't buy a mparts exhaust if you have a Portuguese moke

Buy a mini van box and ask an exhaust specialist to fabricate a down pipe.
It saves driving back from Cornwall without any exhaust !

Hello,

I have a M-parts exhaust on my Portuguese Moke: it fitted perfect!!
You can order a "English" or an "Portuguese/Cagiva" exhaust :-)
Order the right one!! See the difference on the M-parts site.

Kind regards, Rien.

Risen I followed your link to mparts and now I see I was sent the relatively straighter of the two .... namely the English version . No wonder it won't fit !!!! Only hundred pounds out of pocket and lots of noisy argo
