Commission Number

Good morning all, finally collected PPG 523E and whilst looking around the very sad engine bay, found a plate with 'Commission No' and stamped 15B 004728 L. Does anybody know what this means? Peter

PS, I think there may be a letter 'A' in front of the number, so 15B printed in red, then A004728 stamped followed by L printed in red...

Commission means something like "order to be made".

Its a number that doesn't have much purpose now.

When a dealer sold a car, and ordered it from the factory, that order was given a "commission" number.

The VIN is the legal number on your official documents.
