I have tried to get some parts from them.

They sent a response trying to sell me a Moke.

NB They will sell a 'Moke' not a 'Mini Moke'.

Doug. I have been importing and exporting cars for a mere 47 years now.. the best advise I can give someone.. is make the trip in person.. aka Sight Inspection and drive the new car / moke in france/ england... and get the V5 title in hand.. and drive/tow it home.. and make sure it has UK type approval. and I think it needs to meet EURO 6 EPA standards. and get this in writing.. you sure do NOT want something you can NOT drive on the road.. call me at home I sent you a PM. the skinny on all this.. later bc

I inquired what a new Moke would cost and got this info, plus other bits :

MOKE International owns the original MOKE trademark and makes the only genuine MOKEs.
Our cars are engineered in Britain and built at our factory in France.
Steer clear of imitations!

Price: The classic 4-seater petrol engine MOKE is currently available to buy for use in various countries at EUR (€) 19 000 ex works (Cerizay, France)i.e. from the factory in France for our base model not including tariffs, taxes and shipping.

Offer: Given COVID-19, this offer has been extended till the end of August and represents a 20% reduction on the previous price.
Which would have been (€) 19 000 + 25% = (€) 23 750 ex works :(

Validity: The offer is only valid for certain countries where the MOKE is considered to be ‘street legal’ – this does NOT currently include the EU, USA or Australia.

General information:
Waiting List: We only produce a limited number of cars so please let us know if you would like to be added to the waiting list?
We will then be in touch when we have more information.

Key country updates:
UK: We had expected to get final regulatory approval to re-enter the UK market with 56 Limited Edition petrol powered MOKEs last month (it’s been 56 years since the Mini MOKE was first launched here!).
Apparently approval not received yet.
Given COVID-19 however, this has been delayed.
We cannot make any guarantees but anticipate having approval and being ready to ship the first cars by the end of July.
I received info in August, guess it's not available yet
Accordingly we have extended our launch offer of £19,995 for a base model (incl VAT) until the 31st August.
See p.15 of the UK Info Pack for more details on what is/isn’t included.
We are in final round talks with distributors re showrooms, test drives and aftersales and will keep anyone on the waiting list posted.

EU: We expect to launch a MOKE in the EU at the end of the year when we release a full speed electric MOKE with full regulatory approval (emissions etc) and EU homologation.
America: We are partnered with MOKE USA in America, who are the only representatives of the genuine MOKE. [See 'Validity' above]
We expect to launch a full-speed electric there at the end of the year.

Considering that I have to at least add freight Import Duty, Customs Service charge and VAT totaling +/- 85% of CIF cost, I suspect that they will be a hard sell here.
Looking at say UK price £19,995 + 0.85% = £36,990.75.
This excludes transatlantic freight.

One should always check company backgrounds
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... ng-history
https://s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/docu ... a13dceb099
Read the notes in the accounts.
Apparently it lost over £4.6M in 2017 and £6.3M in 2018, and in 2019???

It is a great magazine and gets better and better each month.

Subscription is very reasonable.

The Editor would like contributions, including pictures, to be submitted for inclusion.

Interesting stuff Doug. By way of comparison, what would a Suzuki Jimny cost in St Kitts?

The retail price of a Suzuki Jimney here today (just checked) is US$35,185.20 or £26,769.67 about on todays exchange rate.
