What length fan belt

Post by Doug G »

What length fan belt?

Mini Sport has three:

an 813mm

an 825mm

and

an 838mm

So which one for a circa 1973 Mini Moke with a 998 engine?

Doug,
Why don't you measure the one you've got?

It depends on the size of pulley wheel you have on the water pump and dynamo/alternator
Basically, what I’ve done in the past is order one of each ( they were cheap then) and fiund by trial and error which fitted*
Having said that the minispares site sells pretty much the same stuff and has a description of which belt is for which setup.

*which belt was tight when the alt/dyno was pulled up to finish the job

I think it may have stretched and the 'V' worn.

I think Nigel has the right suggestion.

I bought all three and found that the 838mm fits . . . tightly. :D
