Hi,
I will enquire at the garage who just did my brakes, they have a number of old minis in the yard. If they have one I'II let you have their details.

The Mini one is straight ( relatively, apart from the one gentle bend in it). The Moke one has two sharp turns at the gearbox end so it lines up with the hole in the floor. I'm sure there are some pics and details in one of the threads

http://www.mokeclub.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4060. This is the one, complete with comparison pics. You can make aMoke one from a Mini one with generous heating and careful bending, but they do snap if you're not careful enough.

Hi Nigel, I see, pretty different then.
Did you manage to bend yours sucessfully?
Seems from the other thread that Runamoke may be the answer.

Yes, I managed to shape mine pretty much to the correct shape, with copious additions of oxy acetylene it formed up nicely

Doesn't all that heating etc affect the strength?

Doesn't all that heating etc cause it to be more susceptible to rust?
Having a moking good time!

Clean it up and paint it, it'll be OK. Besides, rust on your gear stick is the least of your Moke worries

Just managed to obtain a gear lever extension piece from the garage that did my brakes and MOT.
Its a hand made one but looks ok and it makes all the difference, gear changing without whole body movement!

Mini Spares used to sell them but when I enquired last it seems that their supplier/manufacturer had gone out of business.
