710 problem
Given that the engine in my Mini Moke has done a lot of miles, in a very hot climate, should I be using a high viscosity grade i.e. having a very high viscosity -- it is thick and gooey.
The year round temperature here is 80ºF.
So what grade do I use?
Also should use 'synthetic' oil?
Castrol oil is readily available here.
Having a moking good time!

Re: 710 problem
Hi Doug,
Never mind the oil or 710, my problem was with the computer,
As we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers.
I had a problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over.
Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong?
He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error. 'I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired,'An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.'
Eric grinned....'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before?
'No,' I replied.
'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.'
So I wrote down: ID10T
I used to like Eric, the little bastard.

Re: 710 problem
When engines are developed the manufacturers cover many thousands of miles testing them in all temperatures, when oil companies make oil they spend many hours testing their product at various temperatures and operating conditions.
Are you saying you know better than all these brainboxes with their million dollar testing facilities
