Exhaust pipe
I strongly suspect that the exhaust pipe on my Mini Moke is likely to need repair or replacement in the near future.
The local chap does not appear to gave any pipe in that diameter.
Any suggestions what to use?

Re: Exhaust pipe
What will happen if I get them to fabricate one from pipe of a slightly bigger diameter?
How would it affect the engine/performance etc?

The reason for the query was that I was led to understand that engines need 'back pressure' from the exhaust?

Re: Exhaust pipe
Yes, that is right. But slightly means a few mm in diameter.
A friend has fitted a large bore exhaust (2") to his 1000cc without changing any more and from that day he had problems with it until changing back.
There would be enough back pressure from the silencer if you just change the pipe.

Re: Exhaust pipe
What make/model (preferably Suzuki/Nissan/Honda/Kia etc) is a good substitute for the silencer replacement when the current one rusts away?

Re: Exhaust pipe
As far as I am concerned. 'Photobucket' can take a flying kick at themselves off the end of a long pier.
Many forums threads [ including (that I followed) restoration over time of a boat] have now been destroyed - all pictures no longer able to be viewed.
Maybe if I delete some I age get under the limit again.
I think I will transfer to http://imgur.com
