Hi Peter, just got my 1965 moke mot tested last Saturday so first road journey for 30 years!!!. Anyway re your pump make sure you have a good earth connection to the shell and if the pump has bee unused for some time just take the cover off and check the contacts inside are not furred up , mine was but with a simple clean all started working fine....James

Thanks, James, will look at that.
I am not convinced a fuel filter after the tank and before the pump is bad. If the pump is not happy you're going to know , at least in a lhd car. Then you grab a screwdriver and spare filter and off you go!
Another prior to carb and you have double coverage!

Transferred the ground wire to the new pump, got to get bigger fuel line or more Vaseline, will attempt installation tomorrow. Had to take off the fuel line from the tank in order to get it in the space, now wondering how I can get it in through that little hole in the pannier divider. Must get a troll helper.

This job was a pain. But worst done now. On to the under wing assembly. Must find that tubing bender.

Chris, is that a fuel filter in the inlet side of the Pump?
While it may seem a good idea, it's actually not wise. When the filter blocks up, it will actually allow the pump to stall in an energised state and in doing so, will burn it out, it is also the common cause of the points burning out (in the non electronic models).
OK, sorry for that, resume topic
Modified the filter location, just reversed the bracket holding the pump (to how it should have been!).
Cheers
