Fill her up please

Post by Mickey C »

Hi, can I ask you ladies & gents for some advice please?
I do not remember having the following problem with my old English moke but i am really struggling to get fuel into my Portuguese one; as much petrol ends up on the for court floor as in my tank!

The next bit is impossible to write without double entendres so excuse me going all Frankie Howard!
What angle is best to insert the pump and how far should I stick it in? 😯

Thankfully only half a tank of fuel lasts ages but the £20 I put in the other day won't last forever! More under car fuel slicks to follow unless someone has a few tips!

I have had the same problem with my Cagiva but now I put the nozzle in and turn it to the left it seems to work most times.

Don't fully depress the pump lever, so it flows in slowly (slower).
Having a moking good time!

I have been doing the slower / trickle approach but crouching down for that long with my dodgey knee kinda spoils the 'I'm so cool in my Moke' look as I unsquat with no grace what so ever!

I will try turning the nozzle left too; it does look like no magic solution exists so far and therefore reassured it's not just me being a Duffus! I'm wondering now about making a flexible pump attachment hose thingy! I'll report back if I do but will hope someone will say put it at (for example) 8.50 angle & it works fine!
