Tracking

Post by Souwester »

My Cagiva Moke has been scrubbing out tyres. I had thought the tracking had been adjusted but today the tyre dealer said he had not got the details he needs to check/set it.
It has always been rather a black art to me, does anyone have details I can give him?
Thanks.

Google mokewerx and go to the tab "in the garage" there is a very good description, and the measurements.

Realistically, the moke has exactly the same running gear as it's contemporary mini. The set up data would be the same and any tyre fitter/garage that doesn't know what the specs for a classic mini are needs to be kept well clear of!!

Thanks both, there is a lot of good reading in that MokeWerx site.

I suppose I can't blame the guy for being 'over cautious' the wheelbase does look wider than a mini.

how wide the vehicle is has no effect on tracking - all that does is check toe in and toe out.
You really need a 4 wheel alignment that checks caster/camber etc. and as said if the guy does not know then you are best going somewhere else.
