Wheel Colour & Mk1 Hub Caps.

Post by rem959 »

Does anyone know what the Mk1 wheel colour is for the 64-65 English Moke? I've found a few vague posts that confirm old English white or WT3 on BMC data. If anybody's interested in buying the Mk1 hub cap direct from the manufacturer, try this link. http://www.hipwellarden.co.uk/hub-caps/4585579871

I was researching the correct colour for Mk1 Mini wheels a while ago and it appears that the exact shade of white does not exactly match any BMC colour because they were manufactured by Dunlop who used their own version of Old English White. This shade of white is far more creamy than OEW. But having said that, a lot of people do in fact paint them OEW.

If you are thinking of having your rims powder coated then the general consensus seems to be that RAL9001 is the closest match.

Hipwell do make Mini hubcaps but are a trade supplier. If you want chrome hubcaps, you can find them here at Ultralite Wheels.
Should you wish, you can always contact me at M Parts
