A few clicks of your mouse will bring you numerous photo's of the Prototype Mokes , along with many books that document these vehicles... In my opinion the vehicle discussed on this thread is not one of them.
Maybe if the present owner was to have a heritage certificate for the vehicle done... that would prove or disprove that it either was, or was not a Moke beyond reproach

Not really, not if you're trying to sell it. Just say it's a Moke, say it's a RARE prototype Moke and ignore any advice/comments to the opposite and hope someone is foolish enough to fall for it.

It certainly is Graham, and if you do want a jimini, check out the new price (£2K plus VAT) for the kit and not £4K starting price on ebay (reserve not met).

If you want a genuine protoype moke....better keep buying those lottery tickets!..ken

Oh and Nigel..I agree with you and just for the record here is what marc originally stated in the listing:

RARE COLLECTOR MINI MOKE MORRIS BLUE
ONE OF TWO FACTORY 1963 ORIGINAL PROTOTYPE MOKE

...................................
Exceptionally Rare Mini Moke

1963 Factory Original Prototype

(One of only Two built)

These are the short wheelbase prototypes made in about 1962-63(?).

Marc556 doesn't seem to have come back again. Something tells me he's had some news that he would rather not have heard and is ignoring it.

You know, what I really hope doesn't happen is that in two weeks time someone comes on here and says "I've just bought this really cool Moke prototype off ebay and I'm having a bit of trouble identifying it..."

On the vehicle registration Document it says Make: Morrris Mini Moke and model type 2 axle rigid body land rover...Date of registration 14/3/63.

Marc
He's telling us that it must be a Moke because it says so on the Registration Document: It also says Landrover so maybe someone should check on the Landrover Forums to see if he's trying to passit off as a Rare 1963 Landrover Prototype?

My Moke rego says that its a 4 seater, but it isn't and never has been. However, I wish it was a four seater, so that means it is and I've got the rego papers to prove that the other two seats exist.
