I hope whoever buys that does their due diligence on it, otherwise they are gonna get burnt.
Edit: I just realised its a 1300. So its a genuine example of Grandad's axe. Its had a new engine and a new shell, but its still the original from 1966.
Are P&L dodgy? They are the ones that have been claiming that the Aussie Moke they were selling was one of only 476 made.

too much money
I don't care about the status of the dealer.
It's simply too expensive for second hand parts.
Would want a completely new car for that price.

Re: too much money
Obviously it depends on the power unit they've used, but quite possibly only the 1966 build plate is secondhand, conceivably the rest is brand new.EKOM wrote:I don't care about the status of the dealer.

Dean, I wonder if its a Moke on the logbook?

Re: too much money
It could be using a Moke logbook but, at the end of the day, DVLA are not the people to believe when talking about the heritage of a particular vehicle, they are just interested in colecting money.Tim wrote:Obviously it depends on the power unit they've used, but quite possibly only the 1966 build plate is secondhand, conceivably the rest is brand new.EKOM wrote:I don't care about the status of the dealer.

In the UK, many genuine Mokes are registered as something else and many non-genuine Mokes are registered as Mokes.

I've been watching this one very closely. Mainly because its identical to mine. Mine has been fitted with a 1275 and 4 pot disk brakes though (retaining all the original parts for replacement if needed). I paid $3000 for mine about 4 years ago and I estimate that its now worth between 6000 and 9000 of our little dollars. There doesn't seem to be much interest in this one at $16000.Nigel(no top)Sykes wrote:Hey Dean - There's you being all shocked at the prices over here, but look at this one in your back yard (so to speak)
