Need a little help-MK2 English Moke
Well, we're at the reassembly stage now. When I tore her to bits, I figured to remember the details of how the harness is routed...
These days my forgettory is much better than my memory. And, smart guy that I am, didn't bother to take any detail pics of it.
I would really appreciate it if some kind soul would offer to take a few very specific digital photos of their car.
1.) Right hand side rear tail lamp area from inside the fender well. I want to see the routing of the harness & pigtails from the lamps.
2.) Routing of the pigtail feeding the rear license plate lamp.
3.) Routing of the wires feeding the wiper motor.
4.) Detail shot of the wire connections on the left side of the engine bay. (opposite side from the fuse box/regulator)
Thanks in advance.

TTT-Someone has to have a MK2 Moke around here. I've sorted most of the issues but still have questions on the routing of the windscreen wiper motor wires.
There's three wires total. Autosparks supplied two(solid green and black ground) bundled in a sleeve and one(green/black) inserted into a smaller sleeve. I'll be able to figure out what terminals they attach to but cannot remember how/where they were originally routed.
Thanks in advance

Hope this makes things clear for you Robin, let me know if you need more info.

Well, sometimes I really step in it huh? Maybe I should have specified that mine is a right hand drive Moke...
Thanks for the pictures Ezeltje. That clears up a few things in the rear and makes some a little more muddy. The harness I was supplied doesn't quite match up to the routing on yours. One of the things I'm learning is that, for such a simple car, I don't know if two of 'em were ever built the same.
As an example, my original harness had a rectagular turn signal flasher stuffed into the speedometer housing. The harness supplied is designed to place the flasher in a "normal" Mini location. It attaches to the common ground connection next to the fuse block. Ezeltje's looks like the flasher is also in the speedo housing.
Perhaps mine is an "interim model"... The kind they just toss together with whatever is left over in the parts bin.
They tell me this is the fun part about putting a car together.
As an aside Ezeltje, what is the leather fob attached to the wiring harness where it passes through the bulkhead? Does it have a note that says,
"If found please return to............"

Eh, there is no diverence in LHD or RHD as concerned the turn signal flasher stuffed into the speedometer housing, previous to this Moke I had a RHD where it was also located in the speedometer housing.
Autosparks supplied you perhaps a standard Mini loom + some extra lead for the wiper, either MKI or MKII and the rear license plate lamp.
As for the leather fob attached to the wiring harness, in this I keep record of hours having fun driving the Moke rather then mileage in a year
Under the regulator there is an hour meter
I also keep record of numbers of ramps I come across in a Moke driving season

Ezeltje, that was my first thought... That AutoSparks had supplied a standard Mini loom with a special sub-harness that went to the rear of the car....
Now I've come across a photo in the Mini Moke Gold Portfolio that shows the engine bay of MK2 Moke with the flasher mounted to the bulkhead.(page 31 reprint of a 1967 High Performance Cars article) And, as usual, that photograph gave me the answer to some of my questions... And brouht up more... So, the harness is "period correct" but not a direct replacement for what my car left the factory with.
As my friend Chuck Heleker has said, the more I learn about these cars the more I don't know...

Just thinking out loud, but............ The auto sparks loom will have been made up from whatever records they have and may not be exactly correct ( you can't tell me they have an origional sample of every loom they reproduce)
I know the Clubman loom I used from them was, at best, a generic Clubman loom and you had to "fine tune" it

Yes Ezeltje, that looks about the same as the harness Autosparks supplied.
I think that most of my electrical issues are sorted out but we'll know for sure once the engine is in and battery connections are made.
I'll be placing a 30amp fuse at the ground terminal until I can test all the circuits. (exept the starter of course) I'm doing my best to avoid the dreaded Moke smoke.
