English mirrors loose.
How do you tighten up the round 'english moke style' wing mirrors?

Re: English mirrors loose.
there's a bolt in the centre that mounts the mirror, loosen the nut and adjust away

Re: English mirrors loose.
There's a square section at the root end of the threaded shaft. I found, on mine, that the nut would bottom out on the square before the mirror was tightened. Result; wobbly mirror....
The solution for me was to place a larger inside diameter washer between the mounting bracket and the nut.
Most important of all though is the use of the "mouse nipples" on the end of the stud. Helps the Moke slice through the air.

Thanks I'll have a look. I suspect that it is buried under many coats of paint.

Please post a picture. I googled "mouse nipples" images and suspect that I was not viewing the right item.Robin Jones wrote:There's a square section at the root end of the threaded shaft. I can't imagine what would've come up on that search.Doug G wrote: Please post a picture. I googled "mouse nipples" images and suspect that I was not viewing the right item.
They're a miniature version of the "hippo nipples" used on top of the rear shocks. Both are an absolute must if you want decent aerodynamics....

Late Aussie Mokes did away with hippo nipples, they have squash balls instead.
