Attendance

Post by Jez »

Hi Kay and all.

My son Kieran & I are coming as I enjoyed it so much last year. I brought him up on the L2B runs when he was little so now he's ready for some real moking !

I've booked our accommodation at The Berwyn Arms (very reasonable). Just got to get to Lithuania & back, first !

Kind regards to all

Re: Welsh Weekend details

Post by joemokebeth »

This year we have moved up to north east Wales and will be based at Carrog Station Camp site next to Carrog Station on the Llangollen Steam Railway. Carrog is situated 8 miles west of Llangollen and 2 miles east of Corwen and 1 mile off the A5.

The event will follow the usual format of meet and greet Friday afternoon/evening with a Fish and Chips run for those who are interested. Saturday will be a run out stopping at Ruthin for lunch with more lanes in the afternoon and a meal in the village pub in the evening. Sunday will see people with a choice of a run out or for those that want they can have a ride out on the steam railway.

There is camping available and if you contact me in the first instance either by phone on 01952 401751 or by email care of Aubrey.Thomas@mokeclub.org to book this. The campsite also has two camping pods available which cost £30 a night and can be booked direct with campsite either by email to enquiries@stationcampsite.com or by telephone to 01490 430347. There is no B & B in the village, however there are guest houses and hotels in Corwen 2 miles away and there is the The Berwyn Arms approximately 1 mile away towards Llangollen. There are also plenty of hotels and guest houses in Llangollen 8 miles away.

If you would like to join us for the weekend please let me know when you are planning to arrive and depart as well as if you want to eat in the pub on Saturday night. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

We have arrived at our hotel in Corwen and we have sunny weather! Hoping that it stays that way for the weekend. Saw Keith and Sandra Overson behind us just before getting into Carrog so we went into the camp site with them for a chat.
Will see others tomorrow at the camp site for the fish and chip run.
