James, good job on refurbishment ! I got a new loom, still had to use dozens of connectors to keep it neat. I know what you mean about taking off the new paint to get good ground. Have to do it.
Tomorrow I will refurbish that old tank and maybe mount the pump and lines.....thanks M-parts. Richard!

Since a new top pannier panel was made, I didn't mark where to mount the fuel pump. Duhhh.

Could anyone give me some approximate measurements before I just guess and slap in that bracket for the pump.

Those dimensions I gave you on the other section ''Cooling/Fuel/Exhaust'' no good? I know you don't have the handle there but I think from the photos and the dimensions, you could guestimate it's position.

More important I fix the leak I just found in the old tank.

Well, sigh, after finding the hole(s) in the old tank and desperately contacting my pal Ray, who did a great job brazing it all up and making a great patch, the next day it was back to the cleaning and muriatic acid 20% solution, followed by metal etch, acetone, another water bath, more acetone, more water and finally, after drying, a good coat of tank sealer.

Then primer, two coats and following day two finish coats.

A day of rest to watch the F1 race and unwind, then it it went today.



Tomorrow, I will try to put together the fuel pump puzzle, and get that line hooked up towards the carb. Wish me luck!

Fuel pump and initial lines in, gads, getting that clamp on tight inside the little hole, good grief, only time will tell if I actually got it tight enough. Next, lines, or maybe something else.....

Hi Peter,
You did the hard bit by getting the photos into the gallery.
Once there open a photo up, right click on the photo, then click properties, highlight the address, copy it, then in the post click Img, paste the photo address between the 2 sets of brackets, done!
