Tim,
I did get them from M-Parts. Very nice, gold anodized, perfect fit. For now, I am holding off on painting. Decided to put them on the top battery cover also, be consistent, as factory and probably better than rivet nuts or well nuts. I wonder what is going on at m parts, they don't answer my emails now and I didn't get a bill for over a week.
The key to a good install is to get the compression tool for the aluminum collar that holds the fasteners on the front panels. Got that from "Milan Spec".

Re: Dzus fasteners
Thinking of masking the slots, when painting, to avoid chips.
Think that would work?

Re: Dzus fasteners
Not painting them now. But, after only a few on and off cycles, I have found the tabs on the fasteners have widened and some even prevent removal of the panel! Does this mean a spring adjustment is in order? Should I loosen the springs - ie compress them? Will try.

Basically yes, you just need to tweak the springs in or out to make the adjustment. After a bit of practice you soon get a solid and secure click
