Hi Paul. Welcome to the Forum, as your Moke was built in Australia, you could try going through the Moke Werx list of body number the AK is the VIn prefix, http://www.moke.com.au/australian-moke- ... e-register The original build documents have been lost. Alternatively one of our esteemed Australian members may be able to help.

3/73 on the plate is March 1973.

I think that 030 COB1 indicates that its an Export model Moke, so should have the deeper mudguards, fuel tank in the back and 'bumpy' rear mudguard flares. The N12 (should it be M12?) indicates that it would originally have had 1275cc engine, which is also correct for an export.

Hi Grandtourer and Tim just got this back from Australia forum seems about right does it not guy's

Quinny,

The 030COB1M12 series was an export Moke built between January and March 1973. According to John Sneddon's book only about 198 were made, starting at 1301, which makes yours number 49. It looks like yours is a March one (3/73 on plate), even though it has a relatively low build number.

The 30 is for export, the C and the OB both relate to being a Moke rather than a Mini, the 1 is a low trim level, the M a manual car and the 12 says it was a 1275cc engine originally.

Hope that helps ... and any photos to share? :)

I see from the Aussie forum that its the yellow one from the "Looks like a Choke" discussion.

Great project. The import models are interesting in that they are one of the very few 'variant' versions of the Moke. They had an interesting history and are said to be the only Mini that came from the factory with a 1275cc engine and drum brakes.
