Mini Mokes....Emperor Rosko....Radio Caroline.....Felixstowe Sept 9th

On the 9th September (a Saturday) Emperor Rosko (you must remember him as a radio DJ in the 60s) will be back in the UK, along with Sherri Lynn, both of whom were on the front cover of Moking 156, to attend an event in Felixstowe where a commemorative stone will be unveiled to celebrate Radio Caroline, the pirate radio station that first broadcast off the coast of Felixstowe in the swinging sixties.

He is asking if 10 or more Mokes are able to attend the event to help give a "sixties" feel to the occasion. He would like to be able to ride with Sherri in a Moke from London to Felixstowe and back again and convoy, collect or meet up with as many Mokes as possible along the way.

So is anyone in the London/Home Counties/South East/Heart of England areas able to make up the numbers and possibly act as chauffeur to Mr Rosko and Ms Lynn.

If there are enough Mokes then Rosko is promising unrivalled publicity for the Club in some of the national papers.

This event may now have to run on the Satudray (9th) to tie in with other celebrations taking place to commemorate the pirate station Radio Caroline.

A quick update. The day is now confirmed as Saturday the 9th.

Rosko and party will be travelling from central London to Felixstowe in three Mokes, departing at 10AM, to rendezvous with those coming from the North at The Miller and Carter Pub, Felixstowe Road, Nacton, IP10 0DF just off the A14/A1156 junction (No58).

12 Mokes in total have so far "signed up" for the day. If you want to take part and have yet to volunteer or require more information then get in touch with Mark Peacock whose contact details are in the last edition of Moking.

The Mokes seemed to have gone down brilliantly with the crowds!
