Restoration of 68 Moke

Post by dpstjp »

I think the time has come to get the old girl looked at. There are some nasty looking brown lines under some cracks in the paintwork, which is obviously not original.

Does anyone have a view on zinc dipping (I’m told galvanising may deform the panel shape)? I’m looking for someone in the south of England who can soda blast the shell and then zinc dip the shell before shipping the body back to my local workshop who will prime and repaint her before the rebuild.

Ideally I’d like to get it completed before the L2B run at the end of May, so plenty of time to organise everything.

All thoughts suggestions gratefully received.

Thank you,

Dominic

Hi Dominic. Talk to Pete Hine at Somerford Minis, now in Calne Wiltshire. They did my Galvanised Aussie Moke.
