HI all,
Has anyone got a supplier of good quality c/v gaiters, steering rack boots, bump stops and everything rubber, I replaced all these parts on my 1st moke last year and already they are showing signs of perishing! I now need these parts for moke no.2.
Cheers for any suggestions,
Mick West

Hi Mick, try Somerford Mini, not had any problems with getting rubber bits from them.

Hi Graham,
Thanks for your reply, have you had any perishing problems with c/v gaiters and the like? The units I bought from a large well known mini parts supplier have, in less than a year, perished and would fail an mot!

Re: replacement rubber parts
The poor quality of replacement rubber gaitors and boots affects the whole classic car industry and the Mini / Moke is no exception.
There have been some fairly lengthy discussions about the issue on some other Mini Forums, particularly the Mk1 Forum.
The consensus seems to be that it's best to try and buy items that are sourced from Japan where the quality is much higher. I understand that they are available from Somerfords, but are quite a bit more expensive. Roger

Hi Mick. As Roger (Bodge) has stated the cost for quality costs more. My Aussie has C/V boots from Somerford for. About 5 years, And no problems with failure or perishing.
