Mini Moke is starting and running and you can hear a 'missing' sound. BUT when you start from a standstill and press the accelerator it misses loudly on one cylinder with the corresponding power loss and vibration.
Mini Moke can travel at 40mph with a light press on the accelerator, but when you press the accelerator it misses on one cylinder.
Points OK.
Leads are OK.
Spark plugs are OK.
Compression test OK.
Trying to check (the distributor cap and the rotor are new) that the rotor arm is making contact with one contact (IE the cylinder that is missing) in the distributor cap and is not 'missing' it ???
Suggestions as to the cause?

Re: Engine missing
Have you got a spare coil you can try. When my coil died it first starting missing when accelerating. Then completely quit.

Re: Engine missing
It is only missing on one cylinder. You can hear it at idle as well.
Did that apply to yours as well?
Nevertheless will try that suggestion.

Re: Engine missing
Update:
PS Note to Webmaster, the 'list feature does not appear to work properly.
- The spark plugs were replaced.
The compression tests went well.
The spluttering on acceleration continued.
The head gasket was replaced. There was no evidence of a 'leak' between cylinders.
Much better now but seems to have an initial lack of power.

Re: Engine missing
Doug, what do you mean when you say list feature? The “ mechanics” of the forum are as they were so if a feature isn’t working now then it didn’t work before.
If you can explain what you mean then we can investigate further.

PS: New Carby gaskets. That's what just fixed my persistent misfire.
