Buyers Beware

Post by Gordycol1 »

*** Watch Out ***

Any potential Moke buyers please keep your eyes open (and your wallet's away!!.)
I was contacted by a very convincing person with this Aussie Moke for sale, we exchanged phone numbers and had extensive dialogue amongst ourselves over a few days, I paid a relatively small deposit into this person's bank to cover delivery cost and have not heard a thing since despite countless calls and texts. I have contacted both banks involved and am currently waiting for a decision from them. Apparently it is quite the norm for fraudsters to only ask for a few hundred pounds ('deposit') as a lot of people would just write it off. This is the supposed Moke for sale and one to look out for (I suppose I potentially own a bit of it?!!) :D
Just thought I'd share anyway (Damnit - could've done with an Aussie to go with my Portugese!!) :x

Trust that you have reported this fraud to the Police.

You should provide them with the Banking info as well.

Bank will have their name and address.
