The powder coating was a bit thick and wouldn’t let the washer in. A run with a file sorted it out. Starting to build the front suspension.

Thanks Nigel. A bit more progress on the front sub frame with more shiny bits.

What is the part welded to front left subframe, looks like a bit of pipe?

Do you mean the brackets at the front end of the subframe? They are the mounting points for the front bumper.

Yes. I have a UK moke so I did not recognize what they were for. Now I understand. ThanksNigel(no top)Sykes wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 16:26 Do you mean the brackets at the front end of the subframe? They are the mounting points for the front bumper.

I thought he meant this bit which isn't a bumper mount.

I did mean that bit, just thought it went with the bumper mount.

Willie, I haven’t got a clue, I’m learning as I go. I’ll check my strip down pictures.

There was nothing there when I stripped it down. Has anyone else got any ideas?

More progress. Suspension all connected up. I’m doing a full build and will then dismantle it to get the Moke sprayed. I haven’t fixed the track rod ends securely as they will have to be adjusted at a later date and I don’t want to have to tighten them into the taper.

Engine ready to go in. I need to mark the brackets for the remote shifter as these need to be welded.
