Hmm, the saga continues.

Latest is , 'Oh by the way the ignition switch needs to be replaced.' £24.00 for a universal ignition switch.

'Oh and it probably needs a new Ignition coil replacement'. £25.00. This has been done TWICE so far in my caretakership. Explanation is that although the Mini Moke was under cover there was some heavy rain and some water got in at the contacts. This should not be a problems the water would dry out, plus the Mini Moke was under cover and the bonet was on.

Yes it seems that the Mini Moke is being rebuilt one piece at a time.    :o   :o

Am reminded of this:

That wishful thinking was dashed. :(

I have now been advised that it needs i) an ignition coil and ii) an ignition switch. Which have been purchased and handed over. 8)

Am led to believe (I hope) that the 'mechanic' has them and I shall be able to get th Mini Moke back in a 'roadworthy' condition . . . soon *

* 'soon' is a great West Indian word which is best defined as 'an unspecified period of time'.

THE SAGA CONTINUES.

The new year commences and nothing changed:

Hmm, the saga continues.

This is after £24.00 for a universal ignition switch was bought and handed over.

Latest is, 'Oh by the way the distributor with electronic ignition needs to be replaced.'

On the alleged grounds that the ignition was left on and this burnt out the electronic ignition in the distributor. I don't think that this is possible, is it?

This cost is about £150.00 including freight and duty.

Ordered one last Friday from a vendor in the UK (name omitted to protect the guilty) and to be sent Fedex.

Yesterday, on enquiry on it's whereabouts, was advised - oh sorry it wasn't in stock and the supplier production had difficulties in getting one to us.

However, it apparently arrived late yesterday at the vendor company and should be shipped today??? If so I 'may' get it next next Monday/Tuesday - IF I am lucky.

Ah well the saga continues.

If it’s anything like some of the tracking numbers I’ve followed in the past it’ll now go round in circles for a few weeks before it arrives at your house………usually 5 minutes after you’ve gone out !
