Looks good, I'll be interested to see how they come out once galvanized. I assume they'll be hot dipped?

Doug I’ve had the engine and gear box sorted by someone who knows what they are doing. Both would be beyond my capabilities.

I’ve recently had my Carb and manifold refurbished by a local company called Parts Restore NI. I’m very pleased with the results. This is what they looked like before.

Tim, I got the bumpers back and yes they were hot dipped. The old one was stripped so it could be galvanised to match the new one. The old one turned out really well. The new one not so good. I think it will need to be redone to pass my quality control.

They both look good in the photos, but hot-dip can be a bit hit and miss. I'm not sure how they were originally done, but they always seemed pretty smooth, whereas around here, hot-dip often comes out a bit rough and grainy.
Out of curiousity, I just tried to find whether there is anyone near me that still does hot-dip. One of the world'd largest zinc smelters is here in Hobart, but no, the only hot dip is about 2 1/2 hours away.
The fresh plating on the carburettor has come up nicely.
