Welsh Weekend Friday 6th September - Sunday 8th September

Post by grantourer »

The Welsh Weekend will take place in the northern part of Wales, this year. We will be based at the Plas Gwyn campsite Llanrug. The event will be along the traditional lines, with the ever popular Friday Fish & Chip supper and a more formal meal on the Saturday night. A full programme of runs will take us around the are, which has some stunning scenery. Please book your accommodation with the campsite:- https://www.plasgwyn.co.uk and also let our Welsh rep. Aubrey Thomas know you have booked:- aubrey.thomas@mokeclub.org and put Welsh Weekend in the subject line. Further details will be released later in the year.

Hello everyone. We hope you are all well and enjoyed easter. We've started looking at arrangements for this year's Welsh Weekend that will take place on 6th to 8th September. Once again we're using Plas Gwyn in Llanrug as our base. We visited last week and they have availability for caravans, motorhomes and tents and their wooden tents are still available. Can you let us know once you've booked please as this will allow us to start planning around numbers. We've provisionally arranged fish & chips as usual for Friday night and Ty Golchi where we've eaten before are happy to welcome us back on Saturday evening. Lunch stop on Friday is at a vineyard and orchard producing their own wine and cider. Where possible we'll pre-order meals so we'll circulate menus when we get them. Drive outs still work in progress. Looking forward to catching up with everyone again. Take care A & H

Hi, I hope this finds you well. Helena and myself are making arrangements for the above and hope you're able to join us. We'll circulate menus nearer the time to pre-order as normal and are planning routes for all 3 days. We called into our base for the weekend at Plas Gwyn Llanrug today. They advise that all their static caravans are now booked but they still have 1 B&B room available. They also have availability in their wooden tents along with caravan, motorhome and tent pitches. It would help with planning if you could let us know if you intend joining us please.
Meantime, Helena has set up a WhatsApp Group to circulate information and if you'd like to be included just let us have your mobile number and we'll add you to the group.
Looking forward to seeing you in September
Regards
Aubrey and Helena

Hi all, update from Sally at Plas Gwyn. She's had a cancellation on one of the statics (not a moker) for our weekend so its now available if anyone wants to book it. If you're interested please contact the site and let us know once you've booked.
Thanks
Helena

We've now confirmed menus for lunch on Friday at Pant Du Vineyard Fish & Chips brought up to the site on Friday evening and Saturday night when we'll eat at Ty Golchi. As usual we will pre-order so I'm attaching menus and would be grateful if you'd let me know what you want by Wednesday 28th August please. Thanks Helena

Hi all. We hope by the time you read this, you're all safely home. Possible exceptions being Richard who was anticipating a 10 hr journey and Tony who's stopping partway home overnight. We just wanted to thank everyone for your friendly and enthusiastic participation in the weekend and for all the positive feedback we received. When we saw Sally at the campsite before we left today, she said that a number of you had already booked for next year so we can confirm that we'll meet at Plas Gwyn from 5th to 7th September 2025. Thanks too to everyone who has added photos and videos of the event to the page. Hopefully we'll get another few drive outs before the weather turns. Take care all Aubrey and Helena
