A bit more about mud flaps

Post by Doug G »

I am sorry to report that the mud flaps that I purchased from down under have started to 'yellow' where the white bits say "MOKE".

This is the strength of the tropical sun (Moke is garaged 6 days a week). In addition, I think that the 'white' rubber/plastic does not contain a UV protective chemical.

Does anyone have any solution(s)?

People here just paint the white bits. One of my Moke owning mates has a yellow and green Moke. He painted all the white bits yellow to match, it looks really good.

I think Rod used acrylic car paint, but I don't reckon it would matter much. Try a bit on the inside and see how it holds up.
